Watched this last night and it was superb It was about the making of Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe.

Contributions from Dweezil and various former band members including George Duke. You got the impression that (a) they had an absolute whale of a time and (b) they thought the guy was an absolute genius.

Strange that Dweezil called him Frank and not dad.

A mate dropped me a text last night about it, but I wasn't able to watch it at the time; I can catch up with it on Amazon Prime.

I lasted about 5 minutes, he just doesn’t do it for me even though he was obviously brilliantly talented.

Around this period there was something of a dichotomy between recorded Zappa and live Zappa. Young Marchbanks saw him at this time expecting to hear loads of songs from Overnite Sensation, but was left befuddled by stuff like RDNZL and Echidna's Arf that he didn't get until years later. I'd love to be able to replay that gig again nearly 50 years on.
