Your Reference Vinyl.

Any upgrade/adjustment is followed by playing one of a number of excellent test pressings which are designed for the purpose; my favourite being those by Shure or Decca.

Remenber buying my fruit box in 1993 one recording that swung it was...

Michael Hedges - Aerial Boundaries on Windham Hill Records.

i was thinking of adding to this. I figured i'd add my japanese pressing of avalon, new order's movement, some marianne faithfulls (notably broken english) and my sheffield drum record - but it seems the bar has just been smashed to bits by my newest acquisition: my mint set of PiL's Metal Box (3 discs at 45 RPM) - pretty comparable to what i can get on a straight recording with my best microphones straight to 192k digitally... possibly better even. wow. I've never heard hifi do this before. I'm going to start looking for more 45RPM stuff.

Rodrigo Guitar Concierto de Aranjuez
Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror
The Jam - that's entertainment
Carly Simon - You're so vain
Herb Alpert - this guy's in love with you

I don't get what Sade brings to a reference disc......Adele even worse

Joe Cocker - Sheffield Steel.
Martin Stephenson - Salution Road.
Texas - Southside.
Melissa Etheridge - Brave & Crazy.
Beverly Craven.
Michelle Shocked.
