Why use a USB to spdif converters...

If 1. your source component e.g. New Mac mini has a very low jitter rate via toslink and 2. you listen mainly to 16 bit lossless and 3. Your DAC has very good jitter handling. Can someone explain as been bugging me? Thanks.

1) You listened to both inputs and the SPDIF sounds better.

2) Your DAC does not have a Toslink input.

3) All DACs sound the same and different inputs are indistinguishable.

4) Buy a SBT, it's faultless.

Take your pick.
