What's your Discogs collection value?

We've had a few threads where people catalogue their collection in Discogs and are astonished at how much some LPs are now worth. I wondered how much people's collections add up to?

I realise this has the potential to be a bit of a pissing contest but we've had similar threads on system cost etc and hopefully an anonymous poll is a discrete way to enquire.

Discogs gives a Min Median and Max value (which in my case are wildly different!) - suggest folk go with the Median value.

Some folks on pfm seem happy to disclose house, car, hifi etc. values , so I don’t see an issue with records/c.d’s.

I have a few LPs whose value was very surprising to me when I started putting my stuff into Discogs over lockdown, e.g. Texas - White on Blond north of £200 median

What’s the point you participating in this thread I wonder. Discogs is a piece of p*ss to use and even easier using a phone and the App.

Yeah well at least if you have the info in Discogs there’s a better chance your insurer will pay than sending them a guesstimate based on a lot of melted records I guess.

Insurers would more likely argue that the condition was at a lower value than the 'pristine' you claim, insurers pay loss adjusters for a reason. Though having a list with a valuation is a good starting point for a claim.

Depends who you insure with and whether it’s a normal or s specialist high value policy, I always go into a lot of detail about my hifi and LPs and last time sent pics and Discogs info to make sure I’m covered, also have the receipts scanned, means the comparison site companys are not an option and you pay a premium but I prefer the piece of mind.
