Whatever happened to Alvin Gold and Jimmy Hughes, two well known hifi critics of the 80s?

A local CD library that I was a member of here in Bristol ‘Silver Disc’ in the mid 80s used to regularly quote some of the anti CD tosh that those two used to spout in the mainstream HiFi press, under the banner ‘golden nuggets’ in their monthly newsletter….

Alvin Gold passed away and JMH fixes Leica cameras for a living.
