1970s Japanese reissue. As the title says solo and duo piano with his wife Bertha, an accomplished pianist in her own right and childhood friend of Eric Dolphy. Bertha Hope had to wait another thirty years however before getting the chance to record as leader with her own trio for Steeplechase. She's still playing and this interview from earlier in the year says she's hoping to record some new material soon.
Was never a big fan of the ska thing in the '80's but this is a stone-cold classic.
Playing the CD rip but still have the original issue vinyl which is astonishingly punchy.
