This has just arrived >> from the 1974 film 'The Conversation' (Gene Hackman - Dir. Francis Ford Coppola)

David Shire ‎– The Conversation
Label:
Trunk Records ‎– JBH073LP
Format:
Vinyl, LP, Album
Country:
UK
Released:
04 Oct 2018

It looks great, just getting into the A-Side and there is minimal pressing noise so far. There are many quiet passages in the music so I am hoping for a good press - especially as this is the first time it has been released on record.

Post David Byrne gig I am working through my Talking Heads albums

Started with Remain In Light (1980 record)

Now onto

Talking Heads ‎– Speaking In Tongues
Label:
Sire ‎– 92-3883-1
Format:
Vinyl, LP, Album, DMM
Country:
Germany
Released:
1983

I really enjoy listening to a day of one particular band/artist.

Had to switch to radio 6 as 2 were doing "serious jocking" (with a g for grates!) and it sunk to a new low with Gina g "oh ah just a little bit" and Kylie believe it of not murdering some New Order! Death before disco!

Billy Bragg - The Home Front (From 'Talking To The Taxman About Poetry')

3 times in a row, still one of Billy's best songs and never fails to put a lump in my throat for some reason.

Deodato, Love Island,
The Lark Ascending, ASMF/Marriner, Argo,
Copland, Appalachian Spring, Barber, Adagio for strings, LAPO/Bernstein, DG
Copland, Appalachian Spring, Dorati/London Symphony, Mercury.

All due to recent platter mat change to leather, giving sonic improvements.

Ahead of the midterms, LCD Soundsystem set out their stall with this cover (albeit with slightly tweaked lyrics):
