Just then Herbie Hancock Speak like a child - US reissue just arrived. Lovely. Fancy open out Gatefold sleeve too. Woo.
Just now (for a complete change) http://vimeo.com/97227684 Autechre without a computer, check out his other transmissions he does.

Natalie Merchant - Tigerlily.
DVD audio - 2 channel 96Khz 24 bit; different to the MFSL gold CD. Worth a listen if you can find one.

This weekend:
ABBA - Voulez-Vous (Polar 1995 CD which I recommend)
Foals - Total Life Forever
Air - Moon Safari
U2 - Pop
Halls - Fragile EP.

Followed by:

Lulu Rouge - Melankoli (Mungolian Jet Set Mix)
Jeremy Greenspan - Crown Princess
Eat Lights Become Lights - Time Enough (Melody Attack Mix)
Vermont - Übersprung

Finishing with:

Musiccargo - Tip Top
Cyclopean - Fingers
Sohn - Tremors
Che - Moving The Silence
Yello - Moon On Ice
Kraftwerk vs Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Numbers

Van Der Graaf Generator / H to He Who Am The Only One. I'm not that familiar with VDGG's early period, but the additional track (Squid/Octopus) is closer to what I was expecting than the balladry of the main album.

Syd Arthur - Sound Mirror
earlier when not cooking, carving pumpkins, gardening, etc:
Dr Feelgood - Malpractice
Can - Landed
King Creosote - Diamond Mine

Surface noise, lots of it.

I've just bought a box of early 78s. Lots of snap crackle and pop, but at least early shellac doesn't sizzle.

There's nothing more evocative than surface noise.
