Wharfedale Linton Heritage - opinions

Thank you both..
Toto Man you're probably right..I never came across such modern receivers,
now I have a clue what he was aiming at.

Interested to get a pair of vintage style speakers, after Wharfedale Linton Heritage, JBL L82, and JBL 4309, to be paired with KT88 tube amplifier listening to pop, vocal, etc.
Anyone has same thought? Any recommendation?
Thank you. :)

There's a couple for you to consider for your shortlist @Mat C the Eltax is around the same price as the Linton, the Elipson is about twice that. There's also the KLH Model 5 for a bit more. I haven't heard any of these but have an interest in these types of speakers. Hth

Thanks for your suggestion. The Eltax, Elipson, and KHL are floor standing , and their large footprint may not get my wife's approval...

There was a pair of Lintons for sale on here, not too long ago

Borrow a pair of NS1000 for a week..
After that your wife's approval will allow a much wider range of speakers provided it's not the Yamahas.

There's a tiny hook though...they work quite well with the KT88.
So if you like them, you'll possibly need a new wife to suit your speakers..

I recently heard them at a friend's house driven by the Quad Artera Solus, and thought they sounded excellent.

Danny at GR-Research doesn't like 'em and reckons you need an upgrade kit that he'll sell you for $731.

I'll leave it at that.
