Trains designated as TGV now only accept folding bikes without a protective bag.
Road bikes, vets etc must now be in fully protective bags, which must cover the underside of the bikes, wheels etc. Additionally they must be booked on that train and the fee paid. Note that this limits the number, since they are accepted in one carriage only.
TGVTERS accept bikes without the protective bag, on payment of a fee. These are the tgvs that have been replaced by the new. Also, you must book, and bikes are stored in the hold. As a general rule they have no upper deck.
There doesn't appear to be a problem with non- tgv older ter trains.
