VOTE SUNAK

ks.234

Half way to Infinity
As a lifelong socialist and activist for the ordinary man, I urge, nay, I demand that every likeminded public spirited citizen votes for Rishi Sunak. He has promised a planned economy with £billions going to the public good. He has said that public consumer confidence is ‘especially’ critical to the economy, and that will be underpinned with job security and higher earnings. Sunak is the best Keynesian we’ve seen for a long time.

He has also throw out some nice touches with his mid week meal vouchers along with his nice catchy ‘eat out to help out’ phrase. The man’s got a nice turn of phrase and clearly in touch with the common man

He also said that the ‘nobility of Labour’ is one of his basic beliefs. The man is practically a Marxist for goodness sake.

Socialists for Sunak unite! You have nothing to lose but your momentum T-shirts!

Has he outspent the Labour manifesto yet? Would be good if he can get the utilities and rail companies back into public hands.

Come on, there's nothing else he could do - the Tories have had their hands forced

From Laura Kuenssberg: But one of his colleagues told me yesterday that Rishi Sunak is somebody who likes to underpromise and then overdeliver, which is not that common in politics these days.

Apt, I thought.

Plus a big sop to the rich trying to flog their posh houses

A £500K house is a rich man's posh house? Besides, it's on the purchase, with the idea that a buoyant property market increases spending in many areas. Only 'til next April, though. Should help upsizing and downsizing, but no mention of the 3% surcharge for more than one dwelling.

Think we've some way to go to meet Andrea Merkel's beneficence, but looks like we're on the way.

A very weak and insufficient intervention seems to be the concensus. Plus a big sop to the rich trying to flog their posh houses
In this day and age, it's not the rich who own 500k houses. If you want to live in certain areas that's what you have to spend.

Can someone tell me how to put Rishi Sunak’s face into the ‘Che’ poster.

I feel there’s a good t-shirt there!

Quite like that, I had a similar idea that I can't be bothered to enact. 5G advert..

Damn, I whipped up a parody of the Obama ‘Hope’ poster for just this kind of thing. But it seems imgur doesn’t want to play ball, and I cba making a new account elsewhere!

A £500K house is a rich man's posh house?

Yes, it is. In a country where home owners tend to be the wealthier and older people, and many people can’t afford houses, it’s over double the average house price (according to the government). That’s pretty much how you define comparative terms like rich, isn’t it?

£500k buys you a one-bed flat in Camden. A studio flat if it's a nice street.

Don't know about Camden, but in Rome or Tel Aviv, which I am familiar with, in a good but not superlative area 500K will buy you, respectively, a modest 90 square meter or 50 square meter flat, with a small terrace if you are lucky.

The stamp duty cut will just push a temporary increase in house prices for the already well off - a typical Tory sop to the rich / better off (if you're offended by rich).
