Vintage Radford Speaker connection points

I'm trying to change speaker cables on my radford which has old style connectors pictured below.

Does anyone know how to change the wire, i assume you just heat it up with a soldering iron but nothings happening, thought i'd check here as i couldn't find anything on the net

That type of connector was once very common. The wires are soldered in so your iron may not be big enough to heat up enough to melt the solder. Try running some fresh solder on the connector ends as this improves thermal conductivity between the iron and connector.
