Hello - my name is Vitaly Shevchenko, I have been a member of Pink Fish Media for more than 10 years, I am a BBC journalist, and I am from Ukraine.

As Russian troops are advancing on my home city of Zaporizhya, I am collecting donations for its brave volunteer defenders.

I will pass all the funds collected to Galina Goncharenko, a local volunteer.

I know her personally, and she has been active since her son was killed in the early stages of the war with Russia:

While she and her team help the Ukrainian volunteer defence effort, they don't deal with armaments, but things like flak jackets, helmets, boots, medical supplies, food, etc. You will find some photos of what they've been on her Facebook page, or by following the my Just Giving link below:
