Tory leadership failure Part V: Rishi ‘Infosys’ Sunak

I don't totally disagree, but I think Ponty is claiming that 't'interweb' has increased scrutiny, whereas the reality is that the press have switched allegiance habitually since long before the 'net existed.

The internet has unquestionably increased scrutiny. Absolutely no doubt about that. It is just in areas that have no connection to established press organisations. The internet is the sole reason this shower of shit are seen as what they are, why they are caught every day going from one grift to the next. This level of corruption has always existed in the UK establishment, the last Tory government were likely as bad, as was the one before that, right back to the days of slave trading, colonialism etc. Police beatings, murders etc have occurred here and in the US forever back to the days they were called lynchings. The difference is everyone now has a smartphone camera and the ability to upload content to social media, YouTube etc. There is nowhere for this shit to hide now as ordinary people can speak truth to power. We can see what they are doing and we no longer need permission to report or publish it. You can go onto Twitter right now and tell Nadhim Zahawi to &*** right off. That is exactly the way it should be.

Labour showed they were very far from grift-free in the expenses scandal with at least one MP ending up in jail as I recall.

That said, even as a non-Labour voter who detests their authoritarianism, nationalism and moral cowardice, I don’t view them as an organised crime syndicate the way the current Tory and Republican parties so clearly are. Bottom line is Labour are absolute shite, but they aren’t actually a fascist oligarch kleptocracy, and there is zero doubt that is what is in power right now.

Jaqui Smith, the then Labour home secretary's husband was downloading porn on her government credit card then a few years later she was on strictly, oh how we laughed, ha ha ha:rolleyes:

Yebbut.. It's a double edged sword. For every intelligent and honest observer speaking truth to power, there is at least one ****wit posting xenophobic, misogynistic, racist, naive, or just plain barmy stuff.

Jo Maugham (Good Law Project) looks to be keeping an eye on Sunak’s own tax affairs (Twitter).

How do I put a twitter video in a post?

Just below that twitter thread Carol Vorderman rips into Sunak over his shares in Thelema and Moderna.

Moderna have made £ms from Covid and the NHS, if Sunak has shares, either with Moderna directly or via Thelema, is he guilty of insider trading?

We were promised transparency.

You can’t, just link to the Twitter post.

PS I think I’ve seen it, she’s been very good of late really ripping into Tory corruption, criminality and hypocrisy. IIRC like Rod Stewart she was originally a Tory voter, I think even activist, so good to see her turn against them so forcefully.

The guy that did all the heavy work on this was interviewed on Times radio this afternoon. He said there is another revelation, similar but not as much money involved coming out in a few days. When asked for any clues as to who he just said
It’s not a Tory.
He also said on BBC 24's Media Show that he has 2 more stories one of which involves mind boggling sums of tax lost to us by a certain sector of business (oil or gas?) and another on certain business practices which are putting lives at risk.

Now that he is no longer flavour of the month the lie that his father was just a humble bus driver is out in the open, you do wonder how he was able to establish a polling company, set up an off shore instrument and reap £27 million from it all while making sure people have the correct change to use public transport.

Oh yes - I'd forgotten that.

Good Afternoon All,

Watching the BBC news at 1 o'clock and observing Sunak talk about integrity - I didn't hear him mention his own breach of ministerial code whereby he lied in parliament about attending a party................................

Regards

Richard

As soon as The poor dear arrived he was sent to Kings school, Wimbledon, fees currently £24,000 a year for day pupils.

Sunak saying he would love to pay NHS a staff more but he can’t ‘we can’t afford it’ because inflation

Same excuse as a decade ago. Tories have been in power for the last 12 years on a presumption of economic competence.

12 years.

We’ve had 50 years of an economic ideology with controlling inflation at its very heart.

It has failed.
