I've been contemplating taking the plunge into DSLR territory recently and considered the usual contenders from Canon and Nikon.

No. Look at ISo perf vs 5dii if that is important to you.

The 7D is a great camera. I'm at this very minute getting to grips with mine and a new 8-15mm f4 Canon L series.

Even digitalrev can only do that combo for £3,200. Still, a handful of mugs will be knocking on their internet door, readies in hand..
