Ticketmaster owners ordered to be broken up to break stranglehold on live entertainment
The US government is trying to split up Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, accusing it of an illegal monopoly in the live entertainment industry.

Merrick Garland, the US attorney general, said ‘it is time to break up Live Nation-Ticketmaster’,

The overarching Live Nation Entertainment company, which sells tickets and promotes gigs, was formed through a $2.5billion merger in 2010.

To achieve what precisely I wonder. Creating a void merely allows other parties to fill it. Addressing serious issues around ticketing requires a very different approach.

Pearl Jam took them on in the 90s but were in a minority of one and ended up have to accept the status quo. They were right then but couldn’t get any traction to beat the monopoly.
Artists need to stand up more, fans are ripped off at every turn.
As for dynamic ticket pricing how on earth did that happen. It’s a joke
