The track I'm thnking of sounds superb on my system and also pretty good on Kii3s in my room. So, yes it's the equipment's fault.
Telling the truth didn't happen, because it was a punter's system at the Wigwam show. Very odd, because the system had sounded very good until then.

come on: we all secretly enjoy cable threads. i, for one, appreciated the agreement between @booja30 and @duckworp that it's good for newbies to hear from folks explaining why different power and ethernet cables are unlikely to be beneficial.

No we defnitely do not enjoy cable threads...! Its like watching paint dry, or watching Golf, Cricket and Formula1 racing; so utterly and relentlessly boring. When audiophiles seriously discuss how a cable should lie between components its time to switch off and simply listen to music.
