First up, the complete laughing Lennie Cohen, 11 CDs for £22.

Yes bought that a few months back for £17. Superb.

The complete Richard Strauss orchestral works, Dresden Staatskapelle - the strauss orchestra - conducted by Rudolf Kempe. 9 CDs for £18.

This is some of the finest Strauss conducting and playing at any price. The analogue 1970s recording is not the ultimate in transparency but not shabby at all. It is a straight reissue of the EMI set which goes for £64.

Seemed only polite to buy that too, so I did yesterday when I ordered Vol 2.

My Live in Europe 1969 arrived today and (going on the first disc) its an incredible set; really intense and highly charged stuff, with a very full bodied close micd recording; it really takes no prisoners. I remember being a bit disappointed with recording quality of the 1967 set, which sounded rather thin, but I must go back to it this weekend and play it again.
