Temple Audio Bantam Gold or Monoblocks or Something.

Just thinking out loud of course... So a DC3 could power a pair of Temple monoblocks?

Yes, easy! a DC2 could do it too, with a little splitter cable, the amps take < 1 amp. You can get 2amps out of a DC2 according to Sean (Custom Hifi Cables)

I used to run BG & PC (Intel NUC actual consumption < 10W) off the DC2.

Thanks, the idea would be to keep the BG/DC2 at work but try a pair of Monoblocks with a DC3 at home (with Neat Momentum 3i's, the unsuitability of which is raised in the other thread).

Like you it seems, and Tony, I don't listen loud anymore, at home or work.

Sensitivity aside, the Temples could match very well with the Neats, much as the Metrum Octave which puts some good meat on their balls, bells and whistles.

75 dB is plenty loud for me.

DC3/monoblocks would be giggly good!

This is the one Alex http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338728743&icep_item=400609702404
You can buy these at your local Maplins store . I think their web site is down just now as I can't get into it. .
These are set at 13.8v , however can be internally adjusted up to 16v . My Bantam Gold worked best at 15v. These made a difference to the SQ of the amp and are indeed plug in and play .

I am trying the model down from this purchased this morning from the Maplin shop at £30 without changing the voltage internally (not that there are any instructions for doing that). My initial impressions are that it is as good as powering the Bantam Gold from a 12V battery. It doesn't look as pretty as the specialist Audio Quality DC1, 2 & 3 mentioned by several but its a hell of a lot cheaper.

If I turn the volume up full with no music playing there is a barely discernable hum. Its considerably less hum than I heard from the NAP 140 I tried before this latest experiment. That's now back in the main system.

Monoblocks or biamping? Or 4 mono blocks biamping ...

Jason

Yes, it crossed my mind to use four but I'd start with two. If either of us can be bothered I'll bring some of this stuff down...

Can only echo other peoples thoughts regarding PSU's for digital amps, plus power cords also- really.
