We are delighted to announce that DNA audio now have the full range of Technics turntables on demonstration including the Reference level 1000R. For anyone who thinks Technics just make DJ decks then think again. Technics were heavily involved in turntable design from the early 70s. At the time the LP12 was introduced the equivalent technics SP10 motor unit was approximately triple the price of an LP12 motor unit!
The current reference the SL1000R is no exception, it costs roughly the same as a Klimax LP12 but is a very different beast. It arrives in a birch faced plywood shipping crate on wheels which in itself is a beautiful thing. The basis of the design is rigidity and mass of which there is plenty, the top plate is machined from a 20mm thick sheet of aircraft grade aluminium. A true reference product.
Ours currently has a dynavector XX2 fitted but we will also be testing it out on a Cadenza black and possibly a Ti Windfeld at some point in the near future. If you would like to hear it we will require a little notice to get it moved and set up as required.
