The best bit was Pete Waterman's (former Stiff records producer) story about calling the office one day to speak to Dave Robinson, boss of Stiff records. Pete was told he was unavailable, apparently he was out on the street with a baseball bat sorting out The Damned who were trying to get paid or something.
The one thing that made me sad was thinking, could you ever imagine someone like Ian Dury ever getting a No. 1 hit in the current music market? The Blockheads really were one hell of a band.
