Sticky colume control

Hi

My Arcam pre amp wont go past the 1/4 mark with the remote control and it is a little sticky when adjusted by hand.

Any ideas? Russ Andrews do a DeoxIT but it is £15 with delivery!!

Welcome any suggestions.

Does turning it back and forth a about 50 times help?

Deoxit is more for electical connections

Sounds like debris in the tracks or the tracks breaking up, or it could be the motor drive mech sticking or dry, might be worth trying a can of servisol cleaner / lube from maplin first if that doesent improve it then I personnaly would just replace the pot with something of the same value (it will be written on the back of the pot, eg. 20-50K Log) and connection type.
