That's the trouble. The best advice I recieved about buying Jazz is you can buy any late 50's to mid 60's Blue Note, Impulse, Riverside, Prestige or Verve with almost impunity. Buy a few, see which artists you like and follow them through. The Blue Note website is really good, lots of tracks to listen to on there.

I got 'The Girl From Ipanema', his definitive Verve 5 disc boxed set of all his Bossa Nova years music in immaculate nick from King bee last year for £15. Great shop - you just have to plough through loads of dross to find the jewels.

Just listening to Somethin' Else by Cannonball Adderley (being wooed by track 5 as I type). Next up is Blue Train by John Coltrane.
