Speakers

Hi guys

New to the forum so please be gentle with me!

My current Dynaudio Audience 50's are sat on 600mm stands either side of a sofa, with the bottom of the speaker sat above the top of the sofa and a slight 'toe in'. They fire towards another sofa sat opposite that is my listening position. The room layout is sadly 'fixed' by the other half...I'm thinking about changing them for a set of small floor standers (Motive 2's etc) which will obviously then be partially shielded by the sofa (which i'm guessing will kill the sound?).

Am i correct in this assumption and therefore potentially wasting money, or do any of you have any thoughts on the matter.

Thanks.

James.

Speakers positioned ehind anything is generally not a good idea, isn't there any other possible room position?

A pair of Shahinians Arcs/compasses would be ideal.

Pete

Welcome Cheekymonkey!

Pete has a good solution here as the Shahinians are omni directional and fire upwards.

To move to a floor stander makes no sense to me for the reasons you state.
