SONY PS1 best cd player in the world?

Bought a ps1 recently from cash generator and played some GT1 and 2 on it, love them, nothing like my shit driving skills bouncing me off the walls and the game not punishing me for it.

Such an incredible console tbh, the 16->32bit jump was easily the largest in console history in so many ways; Graphics, Processing, storage medium to compliment the former's ability to push Audio and massive amounts of content...the PS1 stock controller was great too, though the Saturn 6 button was class as well.

Well built, too, nice PSU in them, a bit Rega-like in the CD mounting mechanism and some audio conversions of the PS1 look very Rega indeed.

Yeah ps1 had the best games. Gt, tekken, Tony Hawke, wipeout, metal gear solid. Modern games just don't have the same playability. Kids these days just don't understand playability.

The original Metal gear was great but nothing had the playability of the Resident Evil games imo. I was so addicted I didn't sleep or eat much for days. Loved the atmosphere and jump scares.

According to a young gamer I know, Red dead redemption and Assassins creed are the best modern games he's played (ones with a good story).

I still use it even though i have now been through AUdio Note DAc 5 special, Mytek Brooklyn and the Dendrips terminator amongst many others. Could still happily live with it even unmolested. one of the most enjoyable cd players a round still, it is just so musical. DImitres comments might explain the differences i noted from one to the other although the power supply caps also differ from the same model.

BEST PSU is grey one, without "China" label on tranformer.
