Do you service Sony amps Mike? If so where are you based?Taff means 337ESD but I have done milder mods to 338's as well along with 555ESD, 333, 227, 228 etc.....
One or two (!) ES items making up an (almost) all-Sony system:
All "stock" but all expertly and beautifully refurbished by David Morley at AVR in Surbiton.
- Pre: TA-E80ES [black/wood]
- Power: TA-N80ES [black/wood]
- CD: CDP-R1a + DAS-R1a [champagne/wood]
- Tuner: ST-770ES [champagne/wood]
- Cassette 1: TC-KA7ES [champagne]
- Cassette 2: TC-K990 ES [black]
To complete the system but not yet acquired (so suggestions welcome!):
robinb
- Turntable: likely to be a Notts Analogue Interspace as I'm a huge NA fan.
- Speakers: ATC SCM40 Mk 1

Wow what a system!!!!
I'm massively jealous of your TA-E80ES, TA-N80ES and especially your CDP-R1a and DAS R1a combo.
If you ever get tempted to sell please let me know. Yes really, I'm NOT kidding.
Er, why not a Sony turntable? And speakers, come to that...
Thanks, Mike!
E80s and N80s are easy to find, in the UK and even more so in Europe, especially Germany. Take a look on HiFi Shark and you'll see they turn up all the time. Buying from Germany is a joy - the chaps there are very easy to deal with and describe items very conservatively (in my experience anyway).
The CDP/DAS-R1a combo on the other hand are pretty hard to find. I massively overpaid for mine [from a well-known amateur so-called Sony specialist who I would most definitely NOT recommend dealing with...] and they've needed some work, but ultimately very happy to have found them!
Mr. BB
As I said, am very open to suggestions, although they will have to go some to outweigh Notts Analogue and ATC...!

I have a PS-6750 here and it's a fantastic looking thing, a quality bit of kit (bit of a shame that for various reasons I haven't really used it and expect it to be returning to its previous owner at some point ).OK then, how about PS-8750 and APM-66ES for starters?!
Where abouts are you?I service pretty much all makes of amp. But not CD players (generally. I sometimes make exceptions).

I have two 338 ESDs, both unmolested. One isn't well and the other sounds superb. The DAC is outstanding.
