That's great. Exactly the way to go. Build a top quality portable digi music player and add a phone for convenience. Advertise it as such and demo it as a player through speakers etc and HiFi may be saved for the future. Top idea.

doubt it, the numbers of buyers of a phone with such features are very small. Most young people dont care about this type of feature

Phone arrived 12 days ahead of schedule, charged up while I was walking the dog, comes with a screen protector and a basic flexible cover too. Sound is via the increasingly common usb c to 3.5mm headphone adapter, going to try a listen and see how it does. Screen is good too. BLOODY HELL. Ok, I'm only listening to a youtube vid (Hazel O'Connor - Will You?) but this phone is driving Grado SR125i's, and doing quite a reasonable of it. First phone to manage it. My Kindle Fire certainly can't manage this. I wonder where my baby headphones went...
