@Snufkin - NAoE is a superb album, one of the best Berlin School records, but in *no way* is it New Age and it is one of Manuel's least guitar-focused albums. The nearest 'electronic' artist I can think of that comes close to the OP's list is Heinz Strobel who records as Gandalf.

It's great that the 80s New Age scene is getting fresh attention. I think lots of us probably wrote off New Age as pan pipes and whale song (of which there is plenty) but home recording tech, cheap synths and some properly leftfield world views combined for some really interesting work. Interesting too that the tape distribution networks were mostly outside of the music industry - this stuff was sold alongside crystals and incense. I get the impression it was just as DIY as punk ever was.
 
I think that a big reason for the reappraisal is that it is on cassette, which is still a thing.
