I've stood on one, and I weigh more than 260 lbs.

I've got the habitat equivalent 2x2 unit for my diffusion/log storage either side of the fireplace and they do the job well, but turn a 2x1 on its end and they are inherently weaker due to the construction and fixings being placed under different loads

I always also use glue when assembling Ikea's flatpacks .... you can park a tank on them after that.
