Single way speakers

Just curious, are there any small desktop type speakers that are (or were) just 1-way - i.e. no crossover and tweeter at all? I'm not looking for full range (Mark Audio type) drive units, just a small midrange unit that will do its best and ideally in a sealed cabinet.

Yup, had a pair for years. Utterly stunning nearfield speakers, just don’t expect much at either frequency extreme. But the rest is just amazing.

I have Mark Audio Tozzi Ones in my study sitting on a window sill driven by a Powenode 2i and I am very happy with them.

It would be mainly for Radio 4 and a bit of classical or pop. Like a super (old skool) Roberts radio.

The thing they are amazing at is creating a holographic image, and just disappearing. They are uncanny on spoken voice stuff, so R4 is a good call.

I have Tozzi Twos...much the same. Tozzi as a simple kit are good very good value...£90.

I've heard the eclipse speakers, the larger ones but not the largest, amazing absolutely amazing, think they might have been the 510s.

If you prefer cheap as chips then the Realistic Minimus 2.5 is available for beer money. A step up would be the TOA RS-21M, if you can find a pair!
