Sending speakers via courier

Better to insure the consignment under single cover for the pair because if one speaker badly damaged or lost, the other is worth next to nothing. For most hi-fi kit I have usually used UPS or DPD & never had problems other than delays in delivery, although never been over £1,000 in total cover. As long as original boxes are still in good condition they should offer enough protection - after all that is how they get to the dealer.

Having just shipped some Tannoy drivers to Europe insured to £1k its worth checking that even despite the best packaging many(inc UPS/DPD) will only cover loudspeakers to £200 for damage. The list of couriers and their limitations/exclusions made me make the packages even more bomb proof as once you dig down most cover isn't worth the paper its written on.
