Scratch - LCD screen

probably of little use now - but I've always used one of those stick on screens to avoid such mishaps... :)

If your camera has a shiny, relatively thick, plastic screen like the one on my Fuji F11, you could probably sort it with metal polish. I've had good results using Brasso and a soft rag on a very scratched phone screen. It was a messy and time-consuming job, however.

I wouldn't try to polish a thin matte screen. The above technique requires a pressure that could wreck the LCD underneath.

I've removed scratches from a flat watch 'crystal' using Solvol Autosol.

You could try this method:

If possible and, as above, if you're sure it's sufficiently thick plastic, put some polish on newspaper, which is supported on a firm flat surface. Move the damaged article over the paper in a steady back and forth movement and check progress frequently. Good luck!

Mull

Thanks for the advice - given I am uncertain of the thickness of the screen, I think I will have to live with the scratch.
