Russ Andrews' cables

that's still not very clear to me (maybe due to my bad English or more probably because I'm thick headed).
I mean, for example: is a RA PowerKord just a KK PK re-terminated with some hi-quality IEC and Schuko's ? or is it a different kind of Kimber cable ?
(they say esplicitly that they use some Kimber Cable to produce it)

ora are they just 'inspired' by the Kiber woven configuration but produce an overall different cable on their own ?

There's a bit more information if you read the articles.

Already very aware of the detrimental impact on a Hi-Fi system of poor mains quality, Russ experimented with making mains cables by threading earth wire through the centre of Kimber 4TC and 8TC speaker cable. This was so successful at improving sound quality that he started selling them – they were first specialist mains cables on the market. Ray took the idea on and developed the PowerKords, which were launched in 1987. Aware of Kimber’s internal wiring cable, Russ suggested that they use it to make an interconnect – and the PBJ was born (originally called PSB and now superseded by Timbre).

My guess is that PowerKord is a trademark and should therefore be the same item whoever makes them up, but with a variety of connections to suit local power sockets.

so the main idea is to use Kimber woven cables (like TC series), with a ground to make mains and interconnects.
ok, now it's getting clear to me (I'm slow but soon or later I get it).
thanks

I did read some parts, but not that part.
but I appreciate your irony :)

I get the impression (and I've been in their premises) that they get the cable in bulk, and make their own terminations. There were at least four or five workstations with folk wielding soldering irons and such.

But don't ask us, ask them....
In what capacity were you there? Are you in the trade?

It's a proud claim: one day they'll put statues of him up in town centres, although no doubt historians will have their work cut out with some Swann vs Edison type nonsense.

I think I mean ....antediluvian?

There are a lot of people around the Somerset Levels and elsewhere who wish they were antediluvian.

I've got all R.A. Ref. Powerkords and my friend likewise. Are they an improvement of others in the same cost ball park? Absolutely no idea, as I'm a bit sceptical of such things. They work well, however, and have just the right amount of copper cores (4 each channel?) to screw into my connector blocks when twisted together.

I don't have much of a view of the products..although Kimber is a well respected cable maker and you could probably do worse.
What I dislike is the level of sycophancy exhibited in his little magazines...endless ''Russ says...''.
Still, I must have bought something at some time, or why would I get these ghastly magazines?
