Rugs

It was actually in a link that @billo posted further up the thread, choices of wool types take it up to £2450 but hell it would be worth it for the resistance to blood stains......

I'm actually starting to form the idea of this pattern for our hallway tiles....then when the wee one is young enough, I'll get him a trike and.......(he'll be scarred for life when he realises!)

Haha. I missed the link further up - that’s a much nicer quality weave.

As long as you do not have twins you might get away with it :)
Further exploration of that site shows that they have Transcriptors Hydraulic Ref turntables as seen in "A Clockwork Orange"

Don't tell anyone over in the Audio discussion :)

Got a new old rug yesterday. I think it looked great and the price was cheap so decided to go for it even though I don't have a place for it right now. I just love the deep rust red color of it. Usually these are much brighter red color I guess. I believe it is at least 20-40 years old but in great condition. It was sold to me and the previous owner as a Beluch rug but I believe this is a Afghan Kunduz rug. @Rug Doc what do you think it is?

I have a baluch. I have owned it for many years. It was purchased from a respected London dealer who specialised in Afghan and from other near regions.

I have no doubt that the importer correctly described it as a 'Baluch'. He purchased it direct from the artisan source.

Mine was new when I purchased it. The main colour is the deep rust like yours.

Best

eguth P.S.-
My Baluch is similar ro yours. The main difference is that mine is more tribal - with deep grey fringes .

Yours is certianly a lovely rug.

For folks in the Edinburgh area, there is a shop in Ratcliffe Terrace( Edinburgh )that specialises in 2nd hand, hand knotted wool rugs, www.vintagewoolrugs.co.uk. Well worth a look if your local, lots of Persian & Turkish rugs on display.

There's also Persian Rug Village on Church Hill (Morningside Road), never been in but seems to be untrodden ones, they have a handy rug guide for people like me.
