Rosedale DS-1000 Speakers

I've been given a pair of these mystery loudspeakers which I can find virtually nothing about online. Has anyone any experience with them?

These speakers seem to be "semi-active" in that one of them has a built in amplifier with remote control and the other speaker links to the "amped" one via a regular speaker cable.
Well they work and I'll spend a bit of time tomorrow checking 'em out.
They do go very loud 'though!
