I have a pair of 20 year old Spendors with ferrofluid cooled tweeters. They sound ok but I'm wondering whether the tweeters should be replaced if there's any truth to ferrofluid aging or solidifying. The tweeters are a type of D2010 Scanspeaks which may or may not have been modified to Spendor's specs. I could replace them with current off the shelf D2010's.

Me too, I ate one sour too.
I removed the voice coils from some scanspeak tweeters from a 30 year old pair of meridian M30's for inspection and found the ferrofluid to be absolutely fine. If they sound good to you, don't mess with them.
