Not tried back to back but owned both.
Had a bit hum on /R
2017 seem to be better build, a very involving amp with easy speakers(such as Rega's own) perhaps better than Elex/R on certain areas.
One record follow the next, it just plays music but not with final details.
New IO isn't bad either, in fact pre-listening is very promising, allmost valve alike mids with excellent basnote control, within its limitation of course., Can't wait to try new Kytes.
Thinking back, early Mira, Elicit etc, Rega have certainly evolved in amplifier performance.
