Rega Brio (2017 model) impressions

I owned the latest Brio and the Brio-R as well as the IO. I prefer the IO and Brio-R to the latest Brio.

My son preferred the IO to the Brio-R in his system. That isn't to say he is right, it's a matter of taste. In most cases, I would pick the Brio-R and my daughter did for her room. They are both very good but are different.
 
The Brio was great, I've since had the elex r and currently have an exposure 3010s2d but thinking I'm going to change up and get the new elicit once I sell my Harbeths.
 
I had a demo of the Brio driving Dali Oberon 5s, Amphion Argon 1s and PMC Prodigys last week. Really good - great tonality and richness, fast, very enjoyable. IMO it didn’t have quite enough power / grip to control the bass of those speakers. Still very nice. I am itching to try an Elex with the Oberon 5s which I now have, although there’s a used Elicit at the dealer which is tempting me.
