I did not make it to the Jazz Record Center on my last trip to NYC but when I went there about 10 years ago, a lot of stuff was very pricey. The selection though was good. I have hardly bought anything from this store.
It was in a nondescript office building, buried somewhere on a higher floor (no street frontage).
If you have a spare day, you would do better by making the side trip to Princeton NJ.
