I’ve just got hold of a kab ev1 record cleaner. It’s the one where you attach your own vacuum. I was pretty underwhelmed when I picked it up but that soon changed when I tried it.
Previously I’ve been using a disco antistat and kidding myself that my records were clean. The combination of the disco bath and then the hoover is magic. It’s intensely satisfying too, especially when you’ve got a clear vinyl record. Even the kids watched that one, in between rolling their eyes cos they think I’m a nutter. The youngest one asked, ‘how come you’re hoovering records when mum can’t even get you to hoover the lounge?’
It makes a huge difference, some records that I’d bought 2nd hand (cleaned with the Knosti) that I thought were crap pressings now sound really good. Wished I’d done this a few years ago. Well recommended!
btw an using ionised water/isopropyl alcohol/Tergitol
