RB250 tonearm

Good morning,
I have an old RB250 which has lots of marks and scratches.....it looks awful.
I was wondering how easy is it to strip all the black paint off and buff it up to shiny silver.
Any advise or support with this would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly when I built my audiomods arm I just used a 320 grit flapper wheel and then a polishing mop with a range of fine abrasive paste.
As stock the RB250 are a bit rough

Why the drilled holes?....and where is the placement?

According to Jeff Spall it reduces mass, resonance and standing waves.
