Quick newbie Photoshop question?

I am new to photoshop.

Yesterday I was using the pen tool to draw around an object (hard edged).

All good and I got the hang of the tool pretty quick as I am familiar with using vector drawing tools at work, however I could not figure out how to change a curved line between two anchor points into a straight line.

Small problem, but it was niggling me that I could not figure this out?
(I know I could position direction points to give the impression of a straight line, but that was not quite what I was after).

Could anyone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks, i googled several times before posting, I have been working through the official Adobe tutorials but wondered if there were additional good alternatives worth exploring?

Just double click on any anchor point to reset it to a corner, then in your case reset the curves outside to the shape you want leaving a straight line between the curves. Or you can drag the inside controls towards each other so the handles meet in the middle giving a perfect straight line between the anchors.
