Quad FM 1 TUNER Query

I have a quad fm 1 that I use with a separate psu. I noticed upon use that is did not sound a good as when I had used it with a pair of Quad mono preamps about a year ago. I noticed through a search here that that the tuner needs a load of 100k for it to sound as it should. My preamp has an input impedance of 50k, so my question is since I have the lead of the tuner plugged into a y adaptor should I solder a 100k resistor on the signal lead from the tuner to make up the differance ?? I hope this makes sense, I also use a fully service fm2 that sounds incredible, I never realized that it could sound a bit better if the impedance was correct. THANKS !

The preamp ought to be 50k through each channel, if I'm not mistaken, hence only 25k when paralleled. You want to bring that up to 100k, so a single 75k in the signal should do it, albeit at the expense of 3/4 of the volts...
