Q for iPad users

Is it possible to stream your itunes library from a mac mini and listen from the iPad?

I ask as i'd like to purchase a CCK and a DAC for such purposes.

I've just tried using iMac to iPad (same thing effectively) and it doesn't seem possible.
The iPad doesn't show as an Airplay device on the mac.

You can stream from a computer/NAS to an ios device using plugplayer app but in this case using a mac mini, you would need to have a UPnP server running on the mac mini as plugplayer is a remote for UPnP servers/players.

I have used it to stream from a QNAP NAS via Twonky (on the NAS) or Asset (with a pc running) to an ipod touch using a second touch as a remote and from an ipod touch to a second ipod touch.

only downside for me was that it didn't support gapless playback.

I can confirm setting up home sharing works with iOS 5 devices, thanks Helmut.
