I know that sound academy in bloxwich, walsall has this very setup on dem most of the time on the shop floor and they will put it in the dem room for you if you book.
It's not an obvious setup but it does work, the rega combo works really nicely with the monitor audio platinum line too.

This might be a dumb question, but provided it doesn't clip the power amp shouldn't matter too much, right? I'm not trying to (re)start an amplifier war, I'm genuinely curious as I've got a pair of 804D speakers that I've not got on with, but I never tried with any amplifier but my NAP200 and I'm now wondering if I've not done them justice or something. FWIW the Harbeth SHL5s I replaced them with are preferable to my ears, but I'd much rather have the 804Ds as they don't make the living room look like I've randomly dumped two small wardrobes in it
