Gagging on the test swab again this morning I idly wondered how frequently people are using lateral flow tests.

In my workplace we've been asked to test twice a week 3-4 days apart which is what I'm doing.

I work from home all the time, so never. My wife has 2 a week (she teaches in a primary school).

Never. Mrs H and I are both retired and both double-jabbed.

We're in exactly the same position but go out for the occasional bar meal and visit elderly parents so, although we'd be unlikely to suffer if we contracted covid (again), it's useful to know if we're carrying - therefore, twice each week.

Our teenager is a professional at it now, fast, no gagging, she even does our eight year old...

I’ve had both jabs, don’t go out unless really necessary and do the test once a week. The Indian variant is gaining traction around here.

Given the lack of reliability of the test it is mosty tokenism.
If you get a positive test, it will near certainly be correct. If you actually have the virus there is only around 50% chance the test will be positive. You might as well toss a coin.

That said - I have had the virus (near certainly - never tested), have had two jabs and socialise very little.

I have never seen, let alone used, a test kit.

Although currently based at home we had a large outbreak in a school in the town and when I enquired it was suggested I test myself twice a week. I was given a 7 week supply which runs out in a few weeks. The large outbreak is over and whether I will be asked to continue I don't know.

depends on how often i go to the office, in weeks with one visit once - in weeks with 2 or more visits twice.

Jabs x2 and 100% WFM so no tests for me so far.
My daughter was doing them regularly while attending college but she's finished for the year so doubt she's done one since, though she probably has a few spare should I wish to do one for whatever reason.

Weekly. When I pay my weekly visit to my 93 year old mum in her care home I have to take a LFT, record the results on the NHS website, and show proof of a negative result before being allowed in to the care home.

The NHS test kit I use currently advises only nose swabs required from each nostril, so thankfully no more gagging on throat swabs.

I've had both jabs.

currently about 5 times every fortnight, I've rolled out LFT to several Organisations

My wife is a teacher so is doing 2 tests a week. I've not done one yet though, as I've been avoiding any activities (including going into the office as that's also a 2 test a week requirement) where a test would be needed. My wife and I have had both jabs now, and I've not been back into the office since the first Covid lockdown started.

Unfortunately we have a major offsite meeting with around 30 folks scheduled for late June and a test is going to be mandatory for that so looks like I am going to have to do one - unless that event gets deferred if the Covid relaxation changes.
