Plug and Socket on arm base.

I'm in the process of attaching my new Denon cartridge to my Akito and for the life of me I can't figure out what's holding the plug on the bottom on the arm in place.

Is it just a friction fit, or is there a retaining screw I'm over looking?

I just don't want to apply too much force :)

Hi chilly

I think there will be a little allen screw in the side of the pillar. If it's the same as the other arms, the size is 0.050" / 1.27mm. It's no wonder you can't see the hole.

Mick, I think you are right. I've just had a good look inside, particularly at the pillar and I've spied a small allen bolt facing the front of the turntable. Sadly my allen keys only go down to 2mm, so it's shopping time for me.

Thanks for the reply.

If you've got a set of small screwdrivers a 1.4mm flat driver will just fit.

I think the later arms use a 1.5mm allen screw - so try experimenting

Chiily,
You need to get a set of inch/fractional hex keys for this. If memory serves me right i think it is the 3/64 key you need. It's a real p-i-t-a when you have to mix A/F and Metric tooling. Everything I use at work on the Aircraft is A/F apart from 1x 10mm bolt . Everything for home and the Car is metric apart from the 1 3/64 allen key on the Linn arm DIN socket securing screw. Doh !

S&C.
