PISA Tests - UK falls outside of top 20

That figure is for teachers who don't progress.

I cannot find the specific reference I used now but if you go to,

http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance/

and search for a particular school, near the bottom of the results will be the England average for the particular year. For 2011-2012 they show £38903.

I found it....interesting that they quote the MEAN...where they should of course use the MEDIAN (that`s what I learnt in my statistics course), as a few really high salaries distort the mean......perhaps this is intentional abuse of statistics by the Government...perish the thought!

I would suggest that the median salary for most teachers is likely to be around £25k
