Just to clarify the Truepoint armboard doesn't have any 'sides' as such, just 4 spacers underneath so it is lighter than the original - hence the need for weights (I have the SME IV).
Arm experimentation? In my early days I did have an Ittok on my first PT deck but never really thought it gelled. After a few years the bearings failed and I didn't bother getting it fixed. The Rega variants seem to work well on Pinks, the SME 309/IV/V sound brilliant on a PT deck if funds will stretch and you can find one. The common observation on those SME arms is that they can sound a bit neutral, sterile, etc. This simply does not apply if you mount one on a Pink - the synergy is excellent.
