I finally got to hear the (excellent) Purple Mountains album, and, my, doesn’t it just sound like one long suicide note? I kept hoping that his friends/musicians/family/associates at least tried to help/intervene after they heard it.

For a person who doesn’t have favourite songs/albums, from the very first time I played American Water it has been right up there for me in any genre.

I haven’t heard the Purple Mountains record yet.
